Jenny McCarthy for blu eCigs. Its like all these ad agencies get to re-live the age of cigarette campaigns.
If you’re feeling like it would be economical to replace your own coils versus buying new ones, here’s a great video tutorial on how to rebuild a Kanger EVOD coil. While many folks will not be too interested, watching the detailed breakdown of the steps helps expose the basic components of what lies within your vaporizer.
Courtney Love’s eCigarette commercial shows the common knee-jerk reaction to vaping indoors. While other commercials for NJOY and other eCigarettes continue to make vaping look gayishly glamorous, this one addresses the current state of social acceptance, the one of confusion and misunderstanding.
Don’t you hate it when you vapor pen battery goes dead? It leaves you scrambling for your charger, which it usually plugged in at your desk. A cool vaping gadget I recently purchased was a mini USB passthrough vaporizer. Connect your EGO-style clearomizer to this USB-powered power source and you are vaping until your next eLiquid refill.
Although the cord is rather weak and will eventually start pulling out from the casing, for about $15.00 from DiscountVapors, its still a bargain that I would recommend keeping handy for those long nights burning the midnight oil.
A little trip to the Vapor Den in San Francisco to restock on eLiquid introduced me to Ms. T’s Bakery. I tried the PG-based the Snicker Doodle and Vanilla Custard which were both great. The Snicker Doodle had a pronounced realistic splash of cinnamon, but not overwhelming by any bit.
The Vanilla Custard eJuice from Ms. T’s Bakery was pleasantly distinguishable, coming off from the last 2 weeks vaping VG-based Velvet Cloud’s Vanilla Custard.
In 2007 a heavy consumer of microwaved popcorn was diagnosed by a doctor in Denver with “popcorn lung”. On 16 January 2008, it was announced that Wayne Watson, the Denver consumer who developed “popcorn lung” after inhaling fumes from microwaved popcorn, was suing the Kroger grocery store chain and its affiliates. On September 19, 2012 a jury in U.S. District Court in Denver awarded $2.3 million in actual damages and $5 million in punitive damages to Wayne Watson of Centennial, Colorado who habitually consumed microwave popcorn for a decade.
What does this have to do with vapor pens, you ask? Diacetyl, the chemical often found in foods that give it a buttery flavor, was deemed the culprit to the illness. Diacetyl was suspected to be used in ejuice, therefore, put a scare into many users that enjoyed butterscotch or vanilla custard type of flavors.
There have been hundreds of posts from consumers asking ejuice companies whether they use diacetyl, but many juice companies really haven’t responded nor have a clue.
Thank goodness my favorite Vanilla Custard ejuice is made locally by Velvet Cloud Vapor. One of the founders has personally confirmed that Velvet Cloud Vapor eJuice is Diacetyl-free, even though their vanilla custard is sweet and buttery beyond belief.
I’ve curated a collection of tasteful cases for your personal vaporizer. It is a shame the industry is still young and there aren’t many cases that look good, protect your PV (personal vaporizer), and prevent juice from leaking into your pants or purse.
So you’ve purchased a state-of-the-art vaporizer and after enjoying a session you place it down and experience the frustration of having fall over, roll around, leak, and eventually roll off your desk. No more of that nonsense with this artistic ground metal electronic eCigarette holder.
The stand brings a sleek modern look in 6 powder coated colors including an artistic grind finish by modern metal artist Nicholas Yust. The stand offers 2 resting positions, one steep angle for use when the tank is full and one gentle angle for use when the tank is near empty. In addition to the attractive finish and shape, our stand is made from mild American steel which give it both rigidity and magnetic properties. The metal of the stand is attracted to the magnet within the pressure switch of your Personal Vaporizer (PV.) This helps lock the PV in place while in the stand.

The first flavor of juice that really got me was a Vanilla that was bought from VaporDen in San Francisco. I had other flavors but it was the one that I felt defined what Vapor should taste like. It tasted better than tobacco and was satisfying to puff on. I then began mixing it with some Turkish Tobacco and few drops of Menthol. What began to change my opinion was that the base was PG and that the juice was made in China. For all intents this is fine but when I was introduced to Velvet Cloud I liked that the eJuice was made in San Francisco, had a base of VG and that they took pride in the liquid they were making.
Naturally, with my affinity for Vanilla and blending it with the Turkish, Vanilla Tobacco seemed like a must try. I ordered 30mL of the Vanilla Tobacco and before I tried it I decided it was going to be my new standard. Unfortunately, when I first tried it was with a new clearomizer that I forgot to prime so all I could taste was burnt wick. I tried smoking through it and priming the atomizer after it was already full of liquid but I couldn’t get over the taste of burnt wick. No matter how much I varied the voltage of my eGo I couldn’t make it work for me. I was left with an almost full bottle of juice and a bit of disappointment.
Wondering how to proceed fate intervened. I went on a road trip and left my bottle of Whitebeard Tobacco at home. As I ran out of Whitebeard in my atomizer I filled it with Vanilla Tobacco. It was better, mildly sweet. The vanilla was subtle and the tobacco a little strong. The throat hit made me cough. I attributed the flavor to the Whitebeard that had penetrated the wick. However the flavor lingered and persisted. The tobacco tasted almost toasted and the only thing I could really compare it to was a mild but lightly toasted Genmaicha (roasted green tea) with hints of vanilla.
The interesting thing is that the flavor grew on me so much. It is really complex and much more nuanced than other eJuices. It took me a bit to appreciate but it has become what I had hoped in the beginning: a new standard.

After trying the 6mg Carmel Tobacco I decided to try a few more flavors from Velvet Cloud Vapor. I bought Whitebeard strictly based on it’s flavor profile description “Medium Tobacco flavoring, butterscotch, custard, and other ‘old-time favorites’”. To me this sounded decent but I was not expecting much especially as I was beginning to lean towards Vanillas and Menthol Tobacco blends as my go to flavors. Two words can sum up my thoughts and experience: Simply Delicious.
The flavor does lean towards butterscotch with the smooth flavor of a custard. However, the flavoring is not so overpowering as to be too sweet and the tobacco flavor is really well rounded. I tried Whitebeard Tobacco in 12mg of nicotine and settled on a voltage of around 3.8 for optimum flavor and “smoke” balance. This has quickly become one of my favorite flavors of juice. Velvet Cloud Vapor has a winner here.
